November 7, 1940 - December 4, 2023

In Loving Memory ~

It is with heavy and broken hearts we announce the passing of Wayne on December 4th, 2023 at Vernon, BC at the age of 83, after a battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family and love, and we take comfort in the knowledge that he is now in peace.

Wayne was born on November 7, 1940 in Alberta and grew up in the LaGlace area with his parents, Roy and Cecil Robinson, two older brothers, Elroy and Bryce, and little sister, Cheryl.

Wayne married his high school sweetheart, Fay Olson, on June 12, 1965 and they celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary in 2023. They were blessed with two children, a daughter, Lana, and a son, Jamie, and three beloved grandchildren, Brian, Mackenzie and Alexis.

Wayne was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. This love of nature led him to a career in Forestry that spanned 34 years and took him to postings in Grande Prairie, Edson, Hinton and Hines Creek. He retired from his role as a Chief Forest Ranger in 1995 and spent a few years doing consulting work.

After retirement, Wayne and Fay spent several summers in their R.V. enjoying many rounds of Golf in Alberta and BC and their winters in Vernon, BC. In 2011, they made Vernon their permanent home, returning regularly to camp and visit with family and friends in Alberta.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Fay, his children, Lana and Jamie and grandchildren, Brian, Mackenzie and Alexis; his sister-in-law, Doreen Robinson, numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Wayne requested a simple cremation, with no funeral.

Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Cecil Robinson, brothers, Elroy and Bryce, and sister, Cheryl.
