Don Verhaeghe

January 3, 2006

After a short illness, Don Verhaeghe passed away at Vernon General Hospital on January 3, 2006. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Patricia and daughter Dena of whom he always referred to as “pretty girl” and sons James (Traci) and Curtis. Don was born on December 19, 1949 in Ste. Rose, MB to his surviving parents, Yvonne and Art; siblings; Roger (Janet), Leonard (Stacey), Debbie (Jules) and Shirley (Jack). Grandchildren; Tori and Garret, nieces, nephews and other family members. Don will also be missed by his in-laws Judy and Bob.

Don lived in Thompson, MB for many years and worked at Inco Mining until his retirement in 2001. Don fulfilled his dream of moving to BC where he purchased a farm in Lumby and raised cattle. Don loved bowling and was actively involved in YBC (Youth Bowling Council) for many years as a volunteer and coach. This was an activity that he and Dena shared together and that he also did with sons when they were growing up. Don was a generous and caring individual and friends and family will miss his companionship and sencse of humor. He was a jack-of-all-trades and gladly shared his knowledge and skills with whomever requested it.
