It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy Irene Park of Vernon.

Mom passed away on February 19th at 91 years of age. She was born the 9th out of 10 children on the family farm to Catherine and Glen Caton of Eckville, Alberta. After graduating, she moved to Rocky Mountain House where she met the love of her life, Robert Park. They were married on February 15th, 1949. Their son Layton was born in October of 1949, followed by Patricia in May of 1951, Darline in March of 1954 and Lori in April of 1960.

Mom and Dad owned the Shell bulk station in Rocky from 1958 to 1974. They farmed south of Rocky where Mom fed and milked cows, delivered calves, fed chickens and pigs and grew a huge garden. She was a hardworking, generous and loving person. She was an amazing cook and people would come from all over for Mom's cream puffs, pies and the best chocolate cake ever! She was a member of the Legion Women's Auxiliary, Kinettes, and was a Boy Scout leader.

Mom and Dad sold the farm in 1981 when they moved to Vernon to retire. They joined the Schubert Center where they volunteered for many years.

Most of all Mom was an amazing Nana to her and Dad's 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren.

Mom was pre-deceased by Dad in May of 2004. She is survived by her 4 children, Layton (Myrna) Park, Patricia (Ross) Harper, Darline (Rueben) Scott and Lori (Brian) Barton and her 39 grandchildren.

We will be having a graveside service for Mom in the spring in Rocky Mountain House, where she will be buried next to Dad.

We love you Mom. Say hi to Dad for us.
