In loving memory ~
We are sad to announce the passing of Dorothy Orr on March 11, 2022 at Pleasant Valley Manor in Armstrong, BC.
Dorothy was born in Strome, AB to John and Marie Niehaus on February 25, 1929.
Dorothy married Joseph Blaeser in 1949 and they adopted two children, Stephen and Maureen. After 8 years Joseph passed away.
Two years later, on Easter Monday 1959, Dorothy met Melvin Orr and danced her way into his heart. After a short courtship, Dorothy and Melvin were married on August 25, 1959. In August of the following year the first of five more children arrived. They resided on the farm in Strome, AB before moving to Armstrong, BC in 1969.
Dorothy worked in the Armstrong Hospital for 19 years. She enjoyed many things but especially loved knitting and travelling with Melvin in their RV.
Dorothy was predeceased by her children Stephen and Maureen, three sisters and five brothers.
She will be missed and remembered with love by her beloved husband Melvin, children Colleen (Ron), Claudia (Duncan), Carla (Alfred), Bradford (Lynnette), Nadine, 23 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:30am March 28, 2022 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Armstrong, BC.
The family would like to thank the staff at Pleasant Valley Manor and homecare staff for their care and compassion.
