December 9, 1984 - July 19, 2023
In loving memory ~
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of, Dr. Shaun Alfred Strohm "our beautiful boy" at the age of 38 from an aggressive brain tumour. Shaun passed into the arms of Jesus on July 19, 2023.
Shaun was born in Vernon on December 9, 1984. He grew up in Armstrong and was raised on the family farm with dogs, horses, chickens, pig's cows and for a short while, goats. He was a hard worker from a young age, doing chores with his brothers and helping at Grandpa Strohm's miniature horse farm. He loved playing sports such as hockey, volleyball and basketball. Shaun continued to play hockey and lacrosse outside of school, joining the Armstrong Shamrocks where he was able to showcase his amazing speed and sportsmanship. He also enjoyed hiking, camping, hunting, board games and online gaming with his friends. Shaun was a man of faith and accepted Jesus from a young age and never wavered. He was always involved in church youth groups, mission trips and young adult groups.
Shaun excelled in academics and always enjoyed learning. After graduating in 2003 from PVSS, he enrolled in math sciences at UBCO. It was at UBCO where he was recognized with awards and scholarships for his brilliant mind and commitment to his studies. In 2013, he earned his Ph.D. and was highly sought after by the academic community. Shaun's motivation for taking his job at the college was so he could pursue his passion to teach and allow for more time with family. His world revolved around his family in Kelowna and they always came first. Shaun Married Elizabeth in 2007 they were blessed with his children Aria 9, Oliver 6 and Sophia 3. Shaun's friends were also like family. If you were a friend of Shaun's you were a friend for life.
Left to mourn his loss are his family Liz, Aria, Oliver and Sophia, parents Chris and Dianne, siblings Nathan (Stacey), Logan (Stacia) along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial will be held on July 30th at 2:00 p.m. at ABC Church in Armstrong, B.C.
Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family at www.CypressFuneral.ca.
