November 19, 1921 – May 18, 2016
It is with deep sadness that we say our goodbyes to our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and auntie, Edna Marie Mackie, on Wednesday, May 18, 2016.
Edna was born in North Vancouver to Robert Henry Woods and Magdalena Beck on Novem-ber 19, 1921. She married William James Mackie on November 4, 1939. They lived in Lavington on Park Lane for over 50 years.
They had four sons and Edna was a loving homemaker all her life. Bill passed away in December 1988 and, in 1999, Edna moved to Lumby to be near her families.
Left to mourn are her sons Jim (Pat), David (Beth), Bruce (Janice), her daughter-in-law Lynette and her grandchildren Heather, Belinda (Shane), Carol, Daryl (Nadine), Dale, Michelle and six step grandchildren, along with numerous great grandchildren. She was predeceased by one sister Eva Sarson in 1984, one son Robert in 2002 and one grandson Donald in 1967.
The family would like to thank Dr. Hayward and the excellent staff at the Monashee Mews. In respecting Edna’s wishes, she will be cremated and no funeral service will be held. A memorial tea will be held on July 8, 2016 at the O A P Hall in Lumby from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Please join us to remember Edna and share your memories.
