Elaine Bain

With heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Elaine Bain on Monday, July 9, 2018, after a valiant fight with cancer and diabetes.

She leaves to grieve her husband Brian; daughter, Leah (Bill) Staley; son, Sean and sister, Fiona (George) Kolesnikoff. Also three grandchildren: Alexandra, Ryan and Katrina Staley, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Elaine was born in Glade, BC to Molley and Peter Negraeff. She was raised in the Doukalor communities in the Kootenays. She left school early to help family but returned in later years to U.B.C. Okanagan and was two courses short of a Bachelor of Arts when cancer struck. The college and university journey started at the old army camp complex and ended at U.B.C. Okanagan.

Elaine enjoyed reading, gardening and travel along with her love for her 4 old sheep dogs. A special thanks to our neighbor the Spillers for their caring and comfort and all the food Shirley sent over the last two years.

Elaine will be deeply missed.

The funeral will be held on Friday, July 20 at 11:00 am.
