1948-2016
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elaine on June 4, 2016 in Vernon, BC. Elaine was born March 8, 1948 in Kilping, SK. Her family later moved to Burnaby, BC. In 1975, Elaine settled in Armstrong. She was always very active in the community and was an instrumental part in establishing the Armstrong Spallumcheen Museum. She was an artist, a curator, a calligrapher, a wife, and a mother.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband John; children: Adam (Emma) Henderson of Chile, Matt (Debbie) of Red Deer, AB, Jennifer (Josh) of Riverside, California; grandchildren: Nathan, Jessica, Nigel, Mateo, Cole, and Barrett.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Elaine Jones room at the Blue Hotel (3495 Okanagan Street, Armstrong, BC).The family would like to thank the staff at the North Okanagan Hospice Society for their wonderful care to Elaine during her stay. Those wishing to do so may make a memorial donation in Elaine’s name to the North Okanagan Hospice Society (3506 27 Avenue, Vernon, BC V1T 1S4).
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rights in a gloom filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little but not too long
And not with your head bowed low,
Remember the love we once shared.
Miss me but let me go for this is a journey we
all must take and each must go alone.
