Elizabeth Shepherd

October 11, 1926 - November 13, 2019
The family of Elizabeth Shepherd sadly announce she passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Hospice House in Vernon. Forever in our hearts and thoughts Elizabeth is survived by her family; three sons Douglas (Elaine) of Nanton Alberta, Terry (Susan) of Williams Lake BC and Bruce (Assunta) of Vernon. Also left to remember their grandmother are four grandchildren Janice, Jason (Shanna) Mark (Jodi) Kevin (Tacha) and six great grandchildren Kenzie, Alex, Kaiden, Aislinn, Evan and Cara. (Ida) Elizabeth was born in South Surrey on October 11, 1926 to Alva and Maude Hallett. She was predeceased by Raymond her loving husband of nearly 70 years in April of 2017 also two sisters and two brothers. She will be greatly missed by numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Following highschool graduation from Semiamoo Highschool in White Rock Elizabeth trained as a medical lab technician however after marriage she was devoted to raising her family. She was active in the Church and fond of children teaching Sunday School for many years and for a period of time worked at a daycare facility. In later life retirement meant a move to Enderby in 1983 and finally moving to Vernon in 2006.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the exemplary care given to Elizabeth by Dr. Fred Dyck and the nursing staff at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. To the wonderful staff and volunteers at the North Okanagan Hospice Society we extend a huge thank you for the amazing care and support shown to Elizabeth and the family in her final days. In lieu of flowers those wishing may make a donation in Elizabeth's name to Vernon Jubilee Hospital or North Okanagan Hospice Society.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2019 in Armstrong at the Chapel of Alternative Funeral Services at 3 pm. Reception to follow.
