We regret to announce the passing of Ella Yakimovitch, on March 6, 2024 at the Gateby short term stay, in her 93rd year.
Ella was born in Fort MacMurray, Alberta on November 18 and moved to Vernon with her family as a teenager. She attended Vernon High School and worked at the Vernon Telephone Office, until she married Victor Yakimovitch and started a family.
They enjoyed many summers at a cabin on Okanagan Lake, fishing at local lakes, picking mushrooms and growing a huge garden.
Ella was an accomplished seamstress and sewed many dance costumes and grad dresses for family and friends. She never missed a Dance Recital or BMX race.
Ella is survived by her daughter Deborah Banks, and three grandchildren, Cory, Colin and Jenica.
She was predeceased by her husband Victor, whom she was married to for 57 years, and her son Allan.
The family would like to thank the staff at Gateby short stay for the kind and gracious care they extended our Mom.
