Born Florence Cartwright Shepherdson, July 22, 1927 in Cottingham, North of Hull, England. Carol emigrated from England to Calgary AB, where she taught for several years and met her loving husband Malcolm. They were both members of the expatriate British Field Hockey group.
The couple married in 1965. In 1970 they moved to Lumby BC, and then to a small acreage in Vernon in 1975. Carol was well loved by many and was an avid member and volunteer throughout the community.
In 1979 Carol and Malcolm were founding members of the Vernon Farmer's Market, which is celebrating its 43rd anniversary. Carol loved sharing her knowledge by teaching and mentoring many of the members of the Kalamalka Weavers and Spinners Guild. She was also a long time volunteer with the Vernon Arts Centre and the Canadian Cancer Society office in Vernon. Her impact in the community will be dearly missed, however her memory will live on.
Carol was predeceased by her dear husband Malcom after 52 years of marriage in 2017.
