Frances Marie Langlands passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday October 29th, one day after her 87th Birthday.
She spent 11 days at Vernon Hospice after suffering a massive stroke on Thanksgiving Day.
She is survived by her children; Rob Langlands (Toronto, Ontario), Fraser Langlands (Vernon, BC), Bev Langlands (Vernon, BC), Grandson Sean Langlands (Janina) of Armstrong, BC, great grand-daughters Saige and Ivy, and brother Barrie Schroeder (Margaret) of Bradford, Ontario.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert Langlands in 2006.
Frances dedicated her life to her family. She spent many years travelling the world with her husband, then with her daughter after he passed. She spoke fondly of her childhood summers spent at her Cottage on Lake Simcoe, Ontario, where she later brought her own children.
She loved to play piano and sang in several choirs during her life. While she loved to garden, cook and bake, her biggest passion was her constant pursuit of spiritual growth. She spent her life studying different religions and spiritual practices. Her family is eternally grateful for the wisdom she acquired on her journey.
Special thanks to the staff at Coldstream Meadows for their friendly support over the past 5 years, to Yvonne for the constant companionship, and the staff at Hospice House for their loving care in her last days.
"I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I'd hope to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I'd love the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun"
