George William Vagenas
Born July 7, 1941, George passed away on June 7, 2016.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Cathy; his beloved daughter Samantha (Jason) and granddaughter Tanisha; his nieces Lisa, Trish (Logan), Sam (Gary), and nephew Don (Kathy).
Special thanks to friends: Vince (Carole), Anna, Jacqui, Rod, Evert, and Alvin and cousins Evinia, Dave (Monica), Pat (Pierce), and Janet; and sister-in-law Lloy (Bob).
George was predeceased by his sister Pauline, mother Elizabeth “Betty” and father, Paul.
Thanks to all who helped George, and kept in touch with him during his battle with cancer, which he sadly lost. George was an avid carpenter and was involved over his adult life in building houses and doing fine finishing work. He also loved the computer and spent hours designing and inventing programs. He loved music, and was a great aficionado of jazz.
In keeping with George’s request there will be no funeral service held. He will be cremated and his ashes will be buried with his mother, father, and sister at Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver. Friends wishing to do so may make donations in his memory to the Canadian Red Cross.
