George Zinz

George was born in Heidendorf, Siebenburgen, Romania on August 7th, 1934 to George and Sofia Zinz and passed away peacefully on August 17th, 2023 in Vernon, B.C. at the age of 89 years.
In the fall of 1944 the family evacuated to Gulchsheim, Germany. In 1951 they immigrated to Canada settling in the Lavington area. George was a loyal husband, devoted father and family man who was very proud to be a Canadian citizen.
George will be lovingly remembered by his wife; Marlene, his children; Larry (Valerie), Carmen and Martin (Christina), his grandchildren; Caroline (Andre), David (Katelyn), Madison (Jordan), Michael and Emily, his great-grandchildren; Brian, Owen, Ryan and Amelia along with his nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
George was preceded in death by his parents; George and Sofia, his brother; John, his sister; Hildie and by his son-in-law; Scott Schneider.
A Graveside Service will precede a Celebration of George's Life which will be held at Peace Lutheran Church on Friday, August 25th, 2023 at 2:00 PM with Pastor David Hunter officiating.
As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of George to Lutheran World Relief.
