June 13, 1934 - January 15, 2021
It is with deep sadness that we announce Gerry's passing at the Vernon Heritage Square on January 15, 2021. After many years with Parkinson's and other health challenges he succumbed after a short illness with Covid 19. He is survived by his two sons, Mark and Ryan, 3 grandchildren, Morganne (Riley), Carly + Briana and 2 great-grandsons Rowan and Oliver.
Gerry was born in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan. He grew up in Rossland, BC. As an adult he lived in Vancouver. He worked as an Air Traffic Controller and moved to Western Airlines.
He married Sandra Wade in August of 1962. Mark was born in 1963 and Ryan in 1966. They resided in Richmond until 1975 where they moved to Vernon. It was here that Gerry began his career in the travel business, mostly with Sun Fun Tours and the last few years operated out of the Schubert Centre. He also spent many years in the RCMP auxiliary which he enjoyed immensely.
Gerry and Sandra divorced in 1986 but always remained friends. Gerry was well liked by everyone who met him & he will be deeply missed.
