July 2, 1928 – August 26, 2018
Gertie was born on July 2nd, 1928 in Chamberlain, Saskatchewan and passed away peacefully in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital on August 26th, 2018 shortly after having celebrated her 90th birthday, a milestone she had always desired to reach.
Gertie is survived by her brother, Ray Rowe; two sons, Terry (Donna) and Vaughn (Maureen); two grandsons, Chad and Scott; two granddaughters, Susan Crofford and Sandra (Jamie) Kerr; one great-grandson, Austin; several nieces and nephews; two loving sisters-in-law, Kay (Des) and Beverly (Harry); her very special “adopted” daughter, Janice (Eric) Foster and the Macatee family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Crofford in 1991 and her longtime partner, Malcolm Macatee in 2015. Gertie will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew her.
Cremation preceded a Celebration of Gertie’s Life which will be held in the Bethel Tea Room on Friday, October 5th, 2018 at 1:00 pm.

The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff and care aides at Carrington Place, Dr. Arnold and those who cared for Gertie at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital, making her last years as comfortable for her as was possible.
