With sadness we announce the passing of Harvie Gay, who died on September 24, 2020, at Noric House, Vernon B.C.
He was born January 3, 1936. Predeceased by his son Darren in 2011 and grandson Travis in 1992. Harvie is survived by his wife Patricia (Coldstream), daughter Leanne (David), grandchildren Kylie, Danika, Collin, Aidan, Emily and Lance.
He will be remembered for his love of family and friends, his kindness, his passion for gardening and most especially his sense of humor.
Harvie also had a love of music, being a banjo player in the Penticton Rube Band, Vernon Backyard Band, Vernon Gospel Band and the Chilly Creakers.
He was a humble man of great intelligence, which lent itself well to his 40+ years' career in journalism; he was the recipient of many prestigious awards.
A private family funeral service was held at the Grindrod Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Noric House (Vernon) are greatly appreciated.
