1946 - 2016
Helen passed away peacefully at home with her family on August 19, 2016. She was born on April 25, 1946 in Enderby, BC to John and Georgie Robertson and grew up on the family farm in Mara.
Helen married Dennis Gerein after high school. They had 3 children and lived throughout the 4 western provinces over the next 20 years, before settling in Trail, BC. Helen continued to live in Trail and made many close friends over the 25 years she lived there.
After her retirement Helen moved back to the family homestead in Mara. She enjoyed gardening, was an excellent cook, an avid reader, and always had a quilting, needlepoint or sewing project on the go. Helen was a card whiz and loved spending time at “ The Cabin” with her family. She enjoyed travelling and was a proud Mom and Grandma.
Helen will be forever loved and missed by her children: Jacqueline, Michelle (Dean), Derril (Nicole); grandchildren: Zachary, Julia, Nadine, and Hayden; as well as Steve Sears; brother Brian (Jo); sister Phyllis; and many special cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life Tea will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 at 2 pm at the Mara Hall (11 Coell-Jones Rd, Mara, BC). We Love You - To the moon and back. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family at www.MyAlternatives.ca
