January 8, 1931 - September 15, 2020
Henry's Lord and Saviour called him Home on September 15th, 2020 at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital at the age of 89 years. He was born on January 8th, 1931 in Folsgare, Friesland, Holland. He moved to Canada in 1949 and has resided in Vernon, BC since 2000.
Henry will be lovingly remembered by Tina, his wife of 62 years; his 6 children, Corrie (Rick) Talma of Camrose, Alberta, John Bootsma of Mission, B.C., Geraldine (Jerry) Veldhuis of Enderby, B.C., Peter Bootsma of Glen Valley, B.C., Stanley (Janette) Bootsma of Chilliwack, B.C. and Teresa (Greg) Fooks of Yarrow, B.C., 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, his siblings; Jenny, Theresa, Stanley and Tinnie along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Henry was predeceased by his parents, John in 1984 and Gerlofke in 2000, his brother Dave in 2001 and by his sister Shirley in 2006.
A private family Graveside Service was held at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery on Monday, September 21st, 2020 followed by a Memorial Service at the Vernon Canadian Reformed Church with Pastor Iwan Borst officiating.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all the doctors and nurses at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital for the wonderful care provided to our husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa.
As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Henry to the Upper Room Mission in Vernon, B.C.
