We regret to announce the passing of our dear mother, Ruth Irene
Green, nee: Roberts on July 7th, 2008 in Vernon Jubilee Hospital at
the age of 86 years. She passed away peacefully with her loving
family by her side.
Ruth was predeceased by her devoted husband Roger.
She will be deeply missed by her two daughters, Susan (Jonathon)
Griffifi n of Duncan, B.C. and Linda (Larry) Poggemoeller of Vernon,
B.C. and will be affectionately remembered by her four grandchildren,
Sean Poggemoeller (Roxanne), Cory Poggemoeller (Benita),
Brittany Griffifi n and Keegan Griffifi n; her sister, Fanny Roberts, three
nieces and extended family and friends.
Ruth was one of six children born to John and Kate Roberts, long
time residents of Vernon. She was born and raised in Vernon, married
Roger Green, and together they raised their family in Vernon.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 12th, 2008 at
11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home with
The Very Reverend Canon Chris Harwood-Jones offifi ciating. Interment
will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. A reception will
be held in the Pleasant Valley Tea Room.
In lieu of flfl owers, those friends wishing to make memorial
contributions in memory of Ruth may do so to All Saints Anglican
Church, 3205-27th Street, Vernon, B.C. V1T 4W8.
