Jean passed away peacefully with family and friends by her side at Hospice House in Vernon, BC, August 22, 2019.
Jean was born to Oliver and Mary Latval on Sept. 25, 1946 joining her brother Gary in the Latval Clan. Jean attended school in New Westminster and following graduation entered the Nursing Program at St. Paul's School of Nursing in Vancouver, graduating in 1968.
Jean moved to several areas in her Nursing career finally settling to work at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. Jean retired from her position on the 24th of December 2006.
Jean's last residential move was to Lumby, a community she dearly loved. Jean chaired several associations over her time in the community, Lumby & District Health Services Society, Lumby & District Senior Citizens Housing Society as well as Lumby Community Thrift Store.
Left to mourn Jean is her partner Elinor Turrill, the daugther of her Heart Debbie, brother Gary (Myrna), niece Kimberly and family as well as many wonderful friends in Lumby, Vernon and other communities in BC.
At Jean's request there will be no formal funeral service. Those wishing to honour Jean's memory may donate, in her memory to The Lumby & District Health Services Society, Box 520, Lumby, BC V0E 2G0
