It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, Joan Jacobson. Mom was taken from us far too soon! Joan will be remembered by her daughters as a loving mother that supported us unconditionally.
She was a single parent that made many sacrifices for us and we will be forever grateful. Mom was known to be sincere, fiercely loyal and represented all that is good with our society. She was an avid reader, loved to cook and bake, and playing the piano was a favourite past time that she passed on to her children.
Her favourite food group was chocolate and will always be remembered asking if we could eat dessert before dinner.
In her retirement, she kept busy with her Monday dinner and movie with "the girls", taking care of her feline companions, Jake and Scottie and working at the Vernon Art Gallery. Mom had many careers over the years including teaching and real estate sales but she was best known as a real-estate appraiser in the Vernon community.
Joan was predeceased by her mom Margaret Jacobson, dad and step-mom Eldon and Erna Jacobson and infant brother Terrance.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters Kirsten (Darrell) Peck, Kerry (Terry Eddy) Casperson, her son-in-law Lee Casperson; four grandchildren Kira, Jaron, Nathan and Kaitlyn; sister Pat Jacobson and brother Barrie (Helen) Jacobson; aunt Evelyn Souster and many nieces and nephews.
A special mention goes out to her loyal friend, Christine (Al) Wejr. We would like to say a very warm thank-you to Kimberlee's Support Services for their time spent with mom. Their kindness and compassion will never be forgotten!!!
A small service will be held in the summer at the family plot in the Hazelwood Cemetery in Abbotsford, BC.
We will miss you mom! Rest in peace!
