It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Louise Young on Friday March 16, 2018 in Vernon, B.C., at the age of 77. She was born March 11, 1941 in Edmonton, Alberta.
Joan was a faithful servant of God who found the joy of life in giving to others. She will be remembered for her energetic and creative programs in the children's division at her church along with other capacities in which she served. She graciously made everyone feel welcome in her home from the beauty of her flowers gardens to delicious meals she loved to prepare from her own vegetable garden. All were blessed.
After the sadness of the loss of her first husband Dale Fleming in 1978, she found love again and married Arthur Young in June of 1988. Together they enjoyed a life of service to their children, church and community until Art passed in 2006.
Joan's passionate love that drew her blended family together in unity and happiness will be greatly missed. She always had room in her heart for everyone individually. From perogy feasts, Helium balloons and bubbles for the grand-kids at camp meeting, to special dinners with homemade banana ice cream and scavenger hunts, she never ran out of fun ways to entertain the children! But, she will be remembered for always giving unconditional love to all who knew her!
She will be greatly missed by her family Richard (Sherry) Fleming; Tonya (Gerald) Bartley; Tracey McKeith; Evin (Tammy) Hartfield; Helen (Rick) Winters; Esther (Glenn) Knopp; David (Roberta) Young; Roger (Anne) Young; and her beloved grandchildren and great-grand children; Dan (Alice) McKeith; Dale (Sharron) McKeith and Joy Sawatky; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on July 26, 2018 in the Armstrong Seventh-day Adventist Church, Armstrong, BC. At 11:00 am.
