September 29, 1969 - January 26, 2019
It is with heartbreaking sadness we announce that January 26th, 2019 Joey died suddenly doing what he loved. He was 49 years. Joey was born September 29th, 1969 in Waltham, MA to Helene and Joseph Alphonse Delaney. They later moved to Cape Breton, NS then Vernon, BC. Joey lived in Abbotsford, BC with his fiance Rachael Riggs and their dog Arctic.
He is survived by his fiance Rachael Riggs, his greatest accomplishments his sons Jordan and Josh, his mother Helene, siblings; Debby, Karen, Roy, Tina and Paula, and half-sister Denise, 5 nieces and 4 nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and both maternal and paternal grandparents of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
Joey lived life on the edge. He was a great outdoors enthusiast, every chance he had you would find him camping, quadding, fishing, boating, target practicing, snowboarding and snowmobiling with his other family, his friends. Indoor you would see him proudly cheering on the Boston Bruins.
He will be forever missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Joey's ashes will be brought to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia where he will be laid to rest.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 23rd, 2019 3:00 pm at 5497 Gladwin Rd, Abbotsford, BC. A Service will be held on March 2nd, 2019 11:00 am at St. James Catholic Church 2607-27th St. Vernon, BC.
