Stranan, Joseph Andrew (Joe)
January 6, 1929 to May 24, 2017
Joe passed away peacefully at the Nanaimo Seniors
Village with his loved ones by his side.
Joe worked for most of his life in ocean transportation,
including at the Port of Prince Rupert. His work enabled
him to travel all over the world and he continued to
enjoy traveling for many years after his retirement.
He is predeceased by his wife Rita, daughter Lisa and
brother Ed. He is survived by his daughter Kathy and
her husband Terry, grandchildren Andrew and Emily
and brother Alois. He also leaves behind his partner
Annette Hiom and her sons Paul (Kathleen) and Phillip
(Grace). He will be missed by his two special grand
children Jacob and Rhianna who loved their Papa Joe
dearly. Joe loved his many nieces and nephews and
enjoyed keeping up to date with their pursuits around
the world.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation would be appreciated.
