In loving memory~
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of June Katherine Purcell on the morning of April 6th, 2023 as a result of medical complications at the age of 67 years.
Kathy will be lovingly remembered by husband Frank Purcell to whom she was married for 43 years; her son Jed (Wendy) Purcell; her beloved grandchildren Mya (10), Maddox (6), Fatima (22) and Noah (18) all of whom adored her and called her "Nanny"; her mother Marie Smith, her brother Larry Smith, her sisters Marilyn Smith and Jeanie Smith along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and close friends. Kathy was preceded in death by her beloved son Joel Nathan Purcell, her father Maurice Smith, her sister Janet and by her brother Paul.
Kathy met her husband Frank in 1976 and were married shortly there after. Kathy was a beautiful soul who dedicated her life to her family. She had a passion for taking care of people. In her earlier days she worked as a care aid and found her work very rewarding. After giving birth to her first child in 1979, she dedicated her life to raising her children and later would carry it on with her grandchildren.
Kathy had an amazing sense of humour and was loved by many. Her health had started to decline in the months leading up to her passing but she could always be relied on for a smile, hug or witty remark. Kathy was known for buying the most thoughtful gifts. She took the time and thought to pick out something absolutely perfect for every occasion.
During her last few years, Kathy's favorite thing to do was to spend as much time as she could with her grandchildren who she adored and they adored her right back. Kathy was an amazing human being who will be missed dearly and remembered with love.
A Funeral Service will be held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Friday, April 28th, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. with Reverend Dr. Teresa Charlton officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
