September 23, 1953 - October 12, 2021
Kathy passed away at home in Rusagonis, New Brunswick on October 12, 2021. Kathy was born in Mission City, British Columbia on September 23, 1953, the oldest of six children, to Gerry and Doreen Creelman. As a child her family moved to Vernon BC where she was the big sister to her brood of five brothers.
After graduating from Vernon Senior Secondary School in 1971, Kathy joined a school friend on a memorable trip to Poland returning to Vernon to ultimately settle down in Armstrong where she enjoyed a lifelong career at Armstrong Cheese/Dairyland accepting a transfer to the Lower Mainland when Saputo bought out and closed down operations at the Armstrong plant.
After Kathy retired she returned to Vernon in 2015 to spend cherished time with her family and to provide companionship and loving care to her ailing father. In the summer of 2019 Kathy decided to follow her children, leaving the province of her birth, to move across the country to the suburbs of Fredericton, New Brunswick.
She is lovingly remembered by her 2 children Sarah (Nathan) and Adam (Amanda) and her grandsons Bradley and Thomas; her brothers Rob (Mandy), Rich, Les (Delia), Patric; her Aunt Muriel and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her mother, father and brother Greg, niece Lisa, great niece Alicia and great nephew Dylan.
Kathy was a dedicated mother, an adoring grandmother, a devoted daughter and a caring sister. Quiet in demeanor, she was a kind gentle person who loved family gatherings, the many jam sessions with her parents dance band and was renowned for her bountiful Christmas baking and homemade chocolates.
She loved to keep her pantry fully stocked reading the weekly newspaper flyers, a morning coffee and cigarette in hand, determined to find what she needed on sale.
Her Tupperware collection was immense, she loved the game of bingo and got the travel bug yet again venturing to Las Vegas with Sarah in 2013, played the slots with a work friend in Palm Springs in 2016, and cherished the family trip to Mexico with Sarah and her clan and Adam and Amanda in 2019.
Kathy will be missed and forever remembered for all she gave to all of us.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Vernon at a later date when her children and grandsons are able to travel here from New Brunswick.
