With the heaviest of hearts we announce the sudden passing of Len Correale. This amazing man is terribly missed by his family & friends. Although our hearts are broken we have much to be thankful for. We were so very blessed to have had him with his funny, loving, larger than life ways for 82 years.
Family, friends & wine were everything to Len, he was the ultimate host and loved welcoming people into his home. He & Betty Jean had just shy of 60 years of fun, love, wine & sausage making together. Pop brought the fun & laughter wherever he went and he went many places in his beloved "Wineship".
In their off time they loved to travel and in retirement became dedicated snowbirds. They especially loved Mexico, Pop loved the music, the people, the language and of course the weather.
The music traveled with him everywhere and he loved sharing and singing all kinds of music, especially with his brothers and sister. We were gifted with so many evenings of impromptu "concerts" with Dad and his family singing & playing guitar together.
Born in Revelstoke, BC, Pop spent most of his work life in various positions & cities with Greyhound Lines of Canada. Settling in Vernon after he and Jeana took over the local Greyhound Agency in 1982.
Len was a loving, devoted and demonstrative (there were never enough hugs & kisses for "Popa") family man and the perennial favorite uncle. He is cherished by his wife, his children, his grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and so many friends.
Left to remember him are his wife, Betty Jean (Jeana), his children Tony (Sherry), Lisa (Steve), his grandchildren, Tory (Travis), Hailey & Landen and his sister Sharon (Mort) Rafuse.
Len was predeceased by his brothers Gordon (Corky) & Robert (Bob).
The family would like to thank the ER caregivers for their considerable efforts. Special thanks to Fiona, Dr. Croft & Kimberly.
Two of Dad's favorite sayings were, "just be kind to each other" and "life's short kid, so be happy". We are going to do our best to honor these sentiments.
'til we meet again . . . te quiero mejor Popa
