1946-2022  ~  Linda passed away peacefully on April 16, 2022 in Vernon BC.
Linda was 76 and predeceased by her parents Owen and Pat Nesbitt of Surrey B.C.
She is survived by her husband Wray, and her five kids Jason, Darcy (Julie), Guy (Stephanie), Tanya (Dan), and Erin.
She had 8 grandchildren- Dallas, Austin, Travis, Elizabeth, Moira, Gillian, Gage and Hazel. Her siblings are Jean and Don, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Linda was raised in Surrey and attended Princess Margaret High School. She married Wray in 1971, and they moved to Vernon in 1973. There Linda and Wray raised their four kids, and eventually moved to Kelowna in 1991.
They moved back to Vernon in 2015. Linda worked briefly in real estate and as a care aid, but she was primarily a home maker who greatly loved playing the piano and spending time at the family cabins on Okanagan Lake.
Linda suffered from health issues such as rheumatoid arthritis and clinical depression. However, that didn't slow her down as she built sundecks, designed cabin additions, performed home renovations, and hauled lots of furniture from one house to another. Linda (and Wray) always had an open door and offered many a young adult a place to stay for as long as they needed.
Linda loved her pets and will have her ashes mixed with the ashes of her favourite dog Gizzy. In years past, she loved to go camping with Bill and Freda, and enjoyed visits with her lifelong friend Karonne.
The family wish to thank the staff at The Hamlets in Vernon, for taking such good care of Linda during the last few years. They also send a special thank you to Dr Andy Spencer, who provided her with kindness and understanding in the past few years, as well as Dr Roger Crittenden of Kelowna, and the late Dr Warren Cunningham of Vernon.
As per Linda's wishes, she will be cremated, and her ashes spread near her beloved lake cabin.
A Celebration of Life will be held sometime in the next few months. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Linda's memory to a charity of your choice.
