It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lionel Eugene Desnoyer on December 21, 2017.

Lionel was born in Coderre, SK on November 2, 1921. He volunteered with the army and spent 3 years in England, Belgium, France, Holland and Germany.

Lionel is survived by his sister Florence Tremblay and is lovingly remembered by his children Dennis (Kathy), Gary (Corinne), Darlene and David (Gail).

Lionel will be missed by his grandchildren Carly (Eric) Jewell, Clayton (Amy) Desnoyer, Jenna (Joe) O'Keeffe, Candice (Chris) Desnoyer, Addison (Carolyn) Desnoyer, Crystal Smith, Billy (Lisa) Schrauwen, Jon, Katie (Norman) and Joe Hopkins.

He also leaves behind his 9 great-grandchildren.

Lionel is predeceased by his parents Albert and Anna Desnoyer, wife Gladys of 66 years, siblings Armand, Beatrice, Ernie, Alfie and Henry.

After the war he worked at Vernon Box and Pine for 21 years. He then owned and operated Desnoyers Honey for 30 years with his wife Gladys. Lionel was a long-time member of the Legion and Eagles Club where he made many dear friends.

Prayers are being held for Lionel at 11:00 am on Friday, January 5th, 2017 at Our Lady of the Valley Church (10102 Middleton Dr, Coldstream, BC) with a reception following at 12:00 pm at the Eagles Hall (5101 25th Ave, Vernon, BC).
