It is with regret and sadness that Wendy and Raegan announce the transition of the love of their lives, Lloyd Klein. Lloyd made his transition on July 1, 2018, Canada Day, a day he loved to celebrate.
Lloyd was born Dec. 1, 1947, in Assiniboia, Sask., the oldest son of his parents, Everett and Nan Klein. He is survived by his loving wife, Wendy, and daughter, Raegan, of Culver City, Ca.; brother, Iain Klein, and sister, Allison Karst, both of Assiniboia Sask. He was predeceased by his brother, Ken Klein.
Lloyd fought a 4 year battle with prostate cancer and endured the recent loss of his home to a fire. We are proud of Lloyd's faith, courage and willingness to heal. He now continues on his radiant journey of eternal life.
Wendy and Lloyd moved to Vernon from Calgary, Alta. in May 1991 to follow their bliss and co-founded the Okanagan Center For Positive Living, graduating many to their own ministries. Later they both worked for Investors Group. Using his pastoral background, Lloyd branched off his career to Pleasant Valley and Vernon Funeral Home as their Family Service Counselor. For 12 years he loved his work there until illness caused his retirement in Sept. 2014.
The family extends their sincerest gratitude to Dr. Christopher Cunningham, Dr. Michael Humphrey, Dr. Troy Schultz, Judy and staff at the Vernon Cancer Center as well as Dr. Theodora Koulis at KGH Cancer Center for their treatment teamwork, improving Lloyd's quality of life during his fight against the disease. The family is so grateful to the Hospice House Staff for their compassionate and professional care these past four weeks.
Lloyd's Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, Lloyd's family requests donations go to North Okanagan Hospice Society and/or The Vernon Jubilee Hospital Cancer Clinic.
We know Lloyd is forever at peace.
