Lloyd Oscar Hostland born August 12, 1929 in Ryley, Alberta, sadly passed away September 26, 2016 from a battle with Cancer. Although he was sick, he still maintained his dry sense of humor until the very end.

Lloyd grew up with 9 siblings on various farms in Southern Alberta. He became a civil engineer and worked for CN Rail for 41 years. He and his wife Mary (Schnirer) were married for 59 years and raised 3 sons and 1 daughter. The family moved often to wherever CN needed him; Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg etc. He coached his kids in hockey. He enjoyed curling, golfing and watching hockey and baseball.

He is survived by his loving wife Mary of 59 years; his sons Ken (Julie) Hostland of Australia, Doug Hostland of Toronto and Robert Hostland of Vernon; his daughter Shirley (Jim) Palahicky of Terrace; 14 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; his brother Stan (Jeon) Hostland of Calgary; his sisters Dorothy (Roy) MacKinnon of Calgary and Margaret (Jack) Bettridge of Sylvan Lake, Alberta; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dad you will be missed.

Vigil Prayers will be recited on Thursday, Septem-ber 29, 2016 at 7:00 PM at Saint James Roman Catholic Church. Followed by Funeral Mass on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Saint James Roman Catholic Church with Reverend Father Dale Celebrant. A reception will follow in the Monsignor Miles Room. Inurnment will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Pleasant Valley Columbarium, 4303 Pleasant Valley Road.
