Lyall passed away at Vernon Hospice after a lengthy battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving family, his wife Jennifer and four children, Keith (Ruth), Hallie (Gary), Tom (Cindy) and Caitlin and by his sister Lynn Webster and brother Gordon Webster. Lyall was blessed with 7 grandchildren, Charlotte, Calvin, Dylan, Ella, Sophie, Sarah and Jeremy and 2 great grandchildren, Kaylin and Malcolm.
Lyall grew up on his family's farm in Coldstream, the eldest son of Josephine and Herbert Webster. Following high school, he explored varying interests - Airplane Mechanic in Calgary, Art School in Vancouver and Architecture in Winnipeg. He received his Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Manitoba and then returned to Vancouver where he spent many years practising with his friend John Keith King. Lyall and Jennifer retired to Coldstream and moved back to the farm upon the death of his father.
He enjoyed skiing, downhill in his youth and cross country in his later years. Lyall had a very busy retirement and until recently was an active member of the North Okanagan Naturalist Club where he helped in the preservation of Swan Lake Nature Reserve and enjoyed work parties on the site.
Lyall was a gentleman in every sense of the word who approached the world with a high degree of integrity, ethics and compassion. He was always there to help with projects both big and small and gave of his time and energy generously. He will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers donations to the North Okanagan Naturalist Club. A private family gathering is planned for the spring of next year.
