May 31, 1929 - February 20, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lyle John Moorman after a short illness.
Lyle was born in Melfort Sask, May 31, 1929. He arrived in Williams Lake around 1954 and went to work for BC Hydro. When Lyle left hydro, a partnership with Shuster Johnston formed Johnston & Moorman contracting Ltd. Then in 1970 Lyle thought he would try his hand at farming in Alberta. Lyle and his wife Pat returned to Williams Lake in the late seventies. Pat passed away in 1996.
Lyle became an avid golfer, discovering Cocopah RV Resort and Golf Course in Yuma, Arizona where he spent over twenty years in the winter months. Golf and playing cards were his passion.
In 2014 he left his home at Felker Lake and moved to Armstrong to be with Mary Lou. Lyle and Mary Lou had many happy years together and she lovingly cared and looked after him until his passing.
Lyle was predeceased by his older brother Earl, wife Patricia 1996, grandson Tyler 1991 and his youngest daughter Penny Lee March, 2021.
He is survived by his partner Mary Lou Plowe, his oldest daughter Wendy (Keremeos) as well as Grandchildren Will (Lynsee) Belize, Eric (Smithers) Liam (Williams Lake) Emma (Williams Lake) and Great Granddaughter Ayva (Belize), along with Mary Lou's extended family.
