1940-2020 ~ Margaret Montgomery of Vernon BC passed away at the age of 80 on October 7th 2020.
Margaret was born in Saskatchewan in 1940 where she grew up. She received the Governor General's Award for academics in high school. She went on to University of Toronto, obtaining a bachelor's degree. Margaret earned a Master's degree in Library Science in 1973 from the University of Oregon.
Margaret Galbraith married John Montgomery in 1960 in Portage La Prairie Manitoba.
She is survived by her husband John, her son Alan, daughter in-law Ivonne and grandchildren Julia and Colin.
Margaret was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
Margaret was always passionate about the importance of reading and strong literacy skills, especially for young people. She also loved cooking, gardening and the outdoors.
Margaret left behind a great legacy for those whose lives she touched; she taught those around her that women could be strong, intelligent and kind.
