September 22, 1929 - November 5, 2021
Our mother passed away peacefully on Nov 5, 2021 at the age of 92. Mary was predeceased by her husband Walter in 1983, sisters Lidia, Olga, Kay and Nellie as well as brothers Bill,Nick and Stafford, her son Ken and daughter in law Sue.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sons Rick (Sandra)Randy (Nicole) and daughter Linda (Gord); grandchildren Natasha, David (Lauren), Matt, Jeremy (Emily), Trevor, Curtis, Colin (Sarah), Thomas (Thea) and great- grandchildren Zion and Tristan. She will also be remembered by her brother Mike and sister Jennie Gilchuk.
Mary was born in Anelowka, Poland on September 22, 1929. She was an infant when the family immigrated to Canada in 1930.
They settled on a farm ten miles outside of Arran, Saskatchewan. Mary moved to Winnipeg where she raised her four children before moving to Delta BC in 1972. After retirement, Mary lived in Kamloops, Kelowna and Vernon to be closer to her children and grandchildren.
Mary enjoyed gardening and attending church. She was a hard-working woman and always kept busy.
She enjoyed spending weekends and summers at the Shuswap and Idabel Lake.
During this past year, Mary spent time in Gateby Rehabilitation Centre and had most recently moved into the Silver Springs Supportive Housing Centre. We would like to sincerely thank the staff at both facilities for their compassionate care.
As per Mary's wishes, a private family service will be held.
