Michael David Budd was born on May 10th, 1956 in Bracebridge, Ontario and passed away at his home in Vernon just as he had wished, on February 24th, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mike grew up in Milford Bay, Ontario and during that season of his life he could be found participating in snowmobile races in the winter and waterskiing in the summer. In 1981 Mike moved to B.C. and once here, he got involved with all forms of car racing, especially drag racing.
Upon graduating from High School, Mike became a Motorcycle Mechanic and then an Automotive Technician. He was employed with Watkin Motors Ford in Vernon for most of his career.
Mike will be remembered by his sister, Susan (Paul) Snider of Milford Bay, Ontario and his many friends in the Muskoka, Ontario area, Vernon, B.C. and his car racing family in the United States. He was preceded in death by his parents, Awdrey and Ruby Budd.
In respecting Mike's wishes, he was cremated and there will be no funeral service held here in Vernon. He will be laid to rest with his parents in Ontario at a later date.
We would like to thank all of the medical professionals, hospitals and caregivers who have helped Mike throughout the years.
As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Mike to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the British Columbia Cancer Foundation.
