Michael Edward (Mike) Lawless was born on February 3rd, 1938 in Regina, Saskatchewan to wonderful parents, Bill and Doris Lawless. He was called Home to be with his Lord on October 20th, 2016 at Hearthstone Manor in Vernon, B.C. at the age of 78 years.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Faye in March, 2014; and his step-siblings, Mae, Emily, Eric, Angela and Frank. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Peg Byars of Bright, Ontario and the loving families of his niece, Jacki Harris of Regina, Saskatchewan; extended family and his wife’s large family, the Denesyk’s.

Mike was a career army man and served in the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry in Canada and Germany until being engaged in the NATO Peace Keeping Force in the Middle East. He loved golf and was blessed to score a Hole in One at the Vernon Golf Club. Mike paid back to his community what others had given to him by being active in AA, the John Howard Society and was a member of his local church, the Knights of Columbus and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #25.

Those wishing to pay their last respects to Mike may do so at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Friday, October 28th, 2016 from 7:00-8:00 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church on Saturday, October 29th, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Father Tony Ackerman celebrant. Cremation will follow. Interment of Mike and Faye’s cremated remains will take place in Regina, Saskatchewan at a later date.

The family wish to extend their heartfelt thanks to Ed and Deb Kinnear for their tender loving care of Mike and also to the management, staff and residents of Canterbury Court where Mike enjoyed the last two and a half years of his life. Your love expressed to him during his stay there will never be forgotten.
