It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Olga Hunter on September 10, 2019 in Vernon, BC. Olga was born on June 13th, 1925 in Smoky Lake, AB. She was a teacher and a life-time member of the Women's Institute, as well as a 4H Club leader, part of the Hospital Auxiliary and had a love and passion for needlework, crochet, knitting, card games, singing old familiar songs and gardening. Olga was also well known for her hearty home cooked meals and her door was always opened to friends and family alike.
Olga is survived by her six daughters Sharon Whitby (Colin), Patricia Hunter (Drew Hilts), Lynne Bedell (Mike), Dianne Hunter (Jerry Lalonde), Debbie Hunter Kunz, Kathleen Nelles (David) as well as twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Martin Hunter in 2007; brothers Louie, Peter, Bill, Alex, John, Mike, Steve and sisters Eva, Nellie, Mary and Annie.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Dawson Creek, July 2020. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation.
