In loving memory ~
Born in Agassiz, BC on April 1, 1928 and passed in Vernon on July 27, 2022 at 94 years.
Mom grew up in Agassiz, meeting dad in grade 3. After graduation she became a nurse at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, then in 1948 she married dad, later starting their family.
Mom played piano throughout her life reaching grade 10 level in classical music from the Toronto Royal Conservatory Program. She also played the organ for over 50 years at church.
She was a wonderful cook and baked daily, always with an apron on and loved doing dishes by hand and was famous for her pies.
Peggy leaves her loving husband, Raymond Chartrand, to whom she was married for 74 years; 2 sons Paul (Dawn) and Joel (Cyndi); 3 daughters Shannon Desilets, Roberta Irmen, Diana (Gary Major); 18 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her parents Ruby and Roy Whelpton, brother Robert, sisters Doreen and Dona, sons-in-law Chester Shearer and Wayne Irmen.
