Lifelong resident and contractor of Vernon, BC, Pete "the builder" Pasechnik passed away suddenly but peacefully in the company of his family December 6, 2018 at Vernon Jubilee Hospital from complications of a short lived battle with cancer.
Pete's life was construction. From the age of 16 til' his passing at age 80 he was always working on a project and never missing a phone call for the next one. He was very proud of the many projects he was involved with in Vernon and the valley.
He loved the community he lived in and especially enjoyed his summers spent on Okanagan Lake recharging his batteries at his cabin and sharing time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Mary of 58 years. His daughters Penny (Rick) Latta & Janey Pasechnik all of Vernon. Grandchildren Jarrod & Paige Latta, Brothers Paul (Rose) Pasechnik, Vic (Karen) Pasechnik, Sisters Lee (Doug) Whyte, Judy (Jim) Miller, Eve Barton and Lillian McPherson; many nephews and nieces, friends and colleagues.
He is predeceased by his parents Olga and Steve Pasechnik, and his brothers George, Gus and John Pasechnik.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, December 17th, 2018 at 1:30 pm at Grace Bible Church, 5661 Silver Star Road, Vernon, BC. 250- 549-3095.
Cremation will precede this event and will be in the care of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home.
