Captain Dick Turpin

1942 - 2016

Our dad, Richard Alfred Malcolm Turpin, born in Quebec City on December 19th, 1942 died suddenly and too soon on the morning of May 16th, 2016. Dick had moved from Victoria to Armstrong, BC in 2012 to be close to his children Natalie and Tony, his daughter-in-law Christine, and his two grandchildren; Gillian and Jessica. He was an officer with the Royal Canadian Navy, a Master Mariner and Nautical Instructor at Camosun College. Dick is predeceased by his parents Alfred and Frances Turpin (Currie).

Dick will be thought of for how much he loved his grandchildren and woodworking. Dick was a member of the Okanagan Wood Turners Guild. He would deny his woodwork was art, but it was.

Dick will be remembered by his family and friends by their best memories of him, and his happiness made tangible through his craftsmanship.

May your heart be at peace on tranquil seas, Captain. We will miss the taste of the ocean on your cheeks.
