It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of a dear husband, father and friend, Bob Allen on September 8th, 2016 at the North Okanagan Hospice House. Bob was born on June 15, 1944 in Regina, SK and grew up at Regina Beach. He loved to share stories of growing up at “the beach”; he had so many cherished memories: swimming, curling, roller-skating and finding trouble with friends! He was known as a Cool Dude and called “The Coke a Cola Kid”. Bob always said he was one of the lucky ones, to grow up in an era of simplicity surrounded by the love of family and community.
Bob left Regina Beach as a young man and studied commerce at the University of Regina. He found his calling as a Tax Consultant and was passionate about tax law, economics and politics. He loved his work and always had several dynamic projects on the go.
Bob also loved people and made so many friends along the way. He will be missed by many. He gave of himself in an honest and humble way, always trying to make the road easier for everyone.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Marsha, daughters Tamara, Nerissa and Tatiana, stepchildren Tanya (Michael) and Walter, as well as the grandchildren he loved so much: Alysha, Jordan, Jared, Lincoln, Wesley and Brooke.
Bob was predeceased by his brother Bill, parents Nancy and Roy, his first wife Alison “Ella” and many good friends that were so important to him, he will not be alone!
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the North Okanagan Hospice Society would be so appreciated. The staff and volunteers at Hospice made Bob’s final days comfortable and gave him the dignity he deserved. We are also grateful to the Doctors and Nurses in ER and in ICU for their excellent care.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Services. Bob’s service will take place at the All Saints Anglican Church on Thursday, September 15 at 2:00pm. Reception to follow at the Elks Hall.
