On November 9th, 2018 Bob passed away in Heron Grove at the age of 87 years. His death was unexpected and very sudden although he had endured several years of deteriorating health.
Bob was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his daughter, Susan (Mike) Hoyland; his daughter-in-law, Sharon Gauthier; his grandchildren, Leanne (Kevin), Jeff (Debbie), Russ (Naomi), Rob (Jenny) and Kylie; eleven great-grandchildren; his sister, Carolyn (Bob) Cooper; his sister-in-law, Greta Tolley as well as many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wilma in 2009 and his son, William (Bill) Gauthier in 2016.
Bob was born in Vancouver, B.C. at Vancouver General Hospital on August 27th, 1931 to Alexander & Iola Gauthier. He met and later married Wilma Tolley on January 25th, 1952. They spent their lives as self-employed business people with Bob always working beside his wife. From commercial blue berry farmers, chicken ranchers, apartment owners, commercial salmon fish buyers and fishing resort owners, they were an inseparable couple in business until their retirement.
Cremation preceded a Celebration Of Bob's Life which will take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Bob to the Good Samaritan Society, (designated for Heron Grove-Vernon), 8861-75th Street N.W., Edmonton, Alberta T6C 4G8.
The family would like to thank the Staff at Heron Grove Cottage #6 for the wonderful care and kindness shown to Bob these past few years.
