We are saddened to announce the passing of Ronald Edward Rogers. Born Oct 31, 1932 in Sexsmith, AB and passed away Feb 19, 2018 in Vernon BC with his wife and family by his side.
Left to mourn is his wife of 59 years; Patricia, his children Brenda (Len) Pickering, Brad Rogers, Rhonda Frederick, Brian (Kim) Rogers, his grandchildren Dawn (Brandon) Pyle, Pamela (Jason) Frank, Patricia (Dave) Haughian, Amy Frederick, Brandon (Angela) Frederick, Mitchell (Alissa) Rogers, Trevor Rogers, great-grandchildren Ryker, Tatum, and Sloan Pyle, Holland Frank, Hannah and Samuel Haughian, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many nieces and extended family.
Preceded in death are his parents Fred & Louisa Rogers, brother Fred Rogers, sister Helen (Jack) Wood, step siblings George & Alberta, grandson Justin Frederick, in-laws Anna & Frank Hemmerle, father-in-law Hans Heuscher, brothers-in-law John and Robert Heuscher.
Ron enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing and many camping trips with family and friends. In his later years he took up woodworking and carving, making beautiful furniture for family and spending lots of time in his shop working on his carvings. He was a member of the North Okanagan Carvers Society.
We have special memories of dad in his red suspenders doing crosswords at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee. He was very proud of and so enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family time and gatherings were very special.
We are left with many wonderful memories of a loving caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Special thanks to his wonderful doctors Dr. Fred Dyck, Dr. Michael Humphreys, the staff at the Vernon Cancer Clinic and the staff at the North Okanagan Hospice House.
Also, to his friend Rene for your special friendship and help it is greatly appreciated. As well, to all his friends that popped in for a chat and coffee.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
