Sandy Gillies, 76, of Dundee, Scotland, passed away July 17, at Cottage Hospice in Vancouver, after a battle with prostate cancer.
An avid cryptic crossword aficionado, Sandy was never at a loss for words like we find ourselves now. Sandy came to Canada in 1967 and moved to BC Hydro shortly after, working throughout the province. He loved his work and the people he worked with. He was an inspiration to others and known for creating opportunities for those around him. He was especially fond of his golfing foursome of almost 50 years; Dan, Jay and Les.
In retirement, Sandy spent his time golfing where he achieved a hole in one, pictured here. He travelled to reconnect with family and helped his sons with their projects.
Sandy is survived by his wife Debo, sister Rita, brother Ricky, sons Graham and Jamieson.
A celebration of life will be held in Vancouver on Sunday, September 12th. RSVP via tinyurl.com/33bz4chf.
