September 28, 1943 - October 8, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful wife, mother(in-law), sister(in-law), grandmother and great grandmother. Along with our sorrow we are tremendously relieved she is no longer in pain and is now peacefully at rest.

Shirley was born in Maidstone, Kent, England on September 28, 1943 and passed October 8, 2018 in Vernon, BC.

Shirley will be greatly remembered and missed beyond words by her husband of over 52 years, Gerald, daughter Kelly (Richard), son Brian (Jennifer), grandsons; Cameron, Jay, Cam, Owen, great grandson Mylo and many other relatives and friends.

Shirley had an infectious laugh and she was one of the most kind, loving, giving and selfless people you could meet. The many friends she brought into her life and all those that were lucky enough to cross paths with her can attest to that. She had a smile and a kind word for everyone she met.

Shirley was very creative and an extremely gifted seamstress. She was an avid curler for over 40 years and enjoyed many of the activities offered in the Okanagan such as golf, biking, hiking and x-country skiing. When she wasn't off enjoying all that the Okanagan had to offer she spent time adding to its beauty by tending to her delightful backyard and garden.

At Shirley's request there will be no funeral service, a celebration of life for family and friends will be held next summer (date to be determined) in Shirley and Gerry's lovely backyard and flower garden.

Special thanks to Dr. Hayward, Dr. Hardy & staff at the VJH Cancer Clinic and the incredible staff and volunteers at Vernon Hospice House for taking such great care of Shirley.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shirley's name to the North Okanagan Hospice Society, Canadian Cancer Society or MS Society of Canada.
