W. Ivy (Hayden) Reeve

It is with profound sadness and a deep sense of loss that we announce the death of W. Ivy (Hayden) Reeve on September 8th, 2022 in Ottawa.
Born March 18, 1937 in Vernon, British Columbia, Ivy was trained as a journalist. She worked in journalism and related fields up until three years ago. Her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit built and sustained a small business, Shopportunities, that was much appreciated in her community of Milverton and this enterprise is still running today.
Ivy was an extremely generous woman devoted to her family and friends. She loved music, gardening, books, cats, and a small, select number of dogs. Those who knew her, remember her as a woman of great energy and moral conviction whose humour and laughter were a source of strength and hope against oppressions large and small.
She will be greatly missed by her sister Mary, children Michael, Helen, and Daniel, and by her six grandchildren, in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Ivy requested that she be cremated without a funeral service. We are planning an informal celebration for friends and family in Milverton, Ontario on Sunday, October 2, at the Perth East Recreation Complex from 2-4pm.
In lieu of flowers, please make a small donation to the charity of your choice. Ivy gave to all kinds of causes, and yours is probably one she has given to or would have been happy to support. Her spirit of generosity was open and ecumenical.
