Forever remembered........

Forever loved

Is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the death of our beloved "Bapa", Walter Harold Fisher, who passed away peacefully in Hospice House on July 6, 2018 at the age of 87.

Walter was born in Vernon to parents Walter and Elsie Fisher and had two brothers named Herbie and Percy. He worked in the hardware business for years and was known and loved by many. He was a kind and gentle man and was seldom seen without his late wife of 62 years, Helen, by his side.

Walter, Helen, and their two children, Debbie and predeceased son Wally, spent many days discovering new fishing holes alongside brother Percy and wife Verna. Walter lived to fish and when he tired out his family, he always had his best friend, the late Larry Seymore to hang out with. If they came home with no fish, their stories were bigger than the fish they missed. At the end of the day, good neighbors Ed and Gayle Mertion were seen hopping the fence for an evening coffee and a few chuckles.

Later in life Walter enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters, Shauna and Jessica, and hosted many family get togethers. Walter had a love for animals, especially his dogs who were regularly seen on his lap at the dinner table. If it was steak night for him it was steak night for the dogs. Squirrels and birds also shared a place in his heart and were included on the daily feed list.

Since the loss of his wife Helen and son Wally, life hasn't been easy for him. Many thanks to all the people that have kept him company and helped along the way. His coffee buddy Bert and neighbors Vickey and Andy just to name a few. We are happy to say that he had a long and healthy life and thank you Dr Prichett for your long time care. He was a good man and we will miss him dearly.

Walter will be cremated and by his request, his ashes scattered alongside his beautiful wife Helen, on one of their favourite hiking trails.

In lieu of flowers, dads one wish would be for everyone to be kind to all animals.
