It is with great sadness we announce the passing of William (Bill) Richard Thompson on December 10, 2020 at the age of 87 years. He leaves behind Marie his wife of 67 years, 4 children Charlotte (Bob), Rick (Maizie), Bill Jr. (Charlotte), Karen (Doug), 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A lifelong friend and brother in law, Neil and his brothers Jim and Earle as well as many in laws and cousins. He is predeceased by his mother and father and 2 brothers.
Bill was born in Summerland and lived in the Okanagan all his life.
Bill started his career as a baker and switched to working with OK Tel and later Telus. He had a lifelong love of trucks, cars and all things with motors and wheels. Bill will always be remembered for his dedication
and devotion to his family. He will be missed greatly.
A special thanks to his three grandsons who sang and played his favourite music during his final moments. It was a great farewell. Also to Dr. Deetlefs and the hospital staff at VJH for their gracious care of Bill.
